The “Vehicle and Machinery Banksmen Safety Course (VMBSC)” is suitable for aspiring and experienced individuals who are required to act as vehicle and machinery banksmen in workplaces such as construction sites, factories, warehouses, ports, shipyards, logistics centres, and other industrial environments where vehicle and machinery movements are involved.

Entry Requirement

Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

• Have basic knowledge of the relevant sector of work

• Be medically fit to perform banksman duties

Course Overview

The “Vehicle and Machinery Banksmen Safety Course (VMBSC)” is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to perform banksman duties safely and effectively. The course focuses on safe coordination and control of vehicle and machinery movements, effective communication with operators, identification of workplace hazards, implementation of traffic management measures, and prevention of accidents involving moving vehicles and machinery.

Upon completion of the course, learners will be competent in applying standard banksman hand signals, communicating clearly with drivers and operators, guiding vehicles and machinery safely in confined and high-risk areas, and responding appropriately to unsafe conditions in accordance with workplace safety requirements.

Course Content

• Prepare to carry out vehicle and machinery banksman duties

• Carry out vehicle and machinery banksman duties safely

• Respond to unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and emergencies

Course Duration

• 4 Hours, including 1 Hour 15 Minutes of assessment 

Teaching Methodology

Face-to-face classroom teaching with practical hands-on training and role-play exercises

Course Attendance

Minimum 100% attendance is required

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement endorsed by SG Safe Pte Ltd.
