The “Basic Traffic Control Course for Workers (BTCCW)” is suitable for aspiring and experienced workers who are required to perform traffic control duties at worksites, construction sites, industrial premises, and other workplaces where traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and vehicles.
Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:
Have basic knowledge of workplace operations
Be medically fit to perform traffic control duties
The “Basic Traffic Control Course for Workers (BTCCW)” is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to manage and control traffic safely at worksites. The course covers principles of traffic management, use of traffic control devices, pedestrian and vehicle safety, communication with drivers, hazard identification, and safe work practices in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
Upon completion of the course, learners will be competent in implementing safe traffic control measures, guiding vehicles and pedestrians effectively, identifying and mitigating traffic-related hazards, and responding appropriately to unsafe situations on-site.
